The Importance of Reading your Bible

What is the Bible?

The Bible is a book that's 100% inspired by God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV)

If you don't have a bible, we'd be glad to provide you with one. Come see a pastor after service or contact the church office at 540-869-7442.

We also write daily 1-minute devotionals you can read online or in our app. You can check it out here.

You can download a mobile Bible app or read one online at here.

Why Do We Read The Bible?

Know God better. He reveals Himself to us through His word and His teachings.

“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4 NIV)

Get guidance in our daily life.

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalm 119:105 NIV)

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." (Psalm 32:8 NIV)

Grow in our spiritual walk with God.

"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." (Joshua 1:8 NIV)

"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers." (Psalm 1:1-3 NIV)
