You Don't Got Dis
Posted: August 24, 2017
When you go through stressful days or seasons, do you ever give yourself a pep talk? "Come on, self, you can do this! It's all good, you're going to make it. Don't even worry about it, you got dis!!!" Well, the truth is, you *don't* got dis. And believing that it all rests on you is actually a form of pride. That's not bad news, it's actually good news because Who does "got dis?" God!
"'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:5-6
So the next time you're overwhelmed, hang all your worries on a hook and cast that line as far as you can. While you're at it, toss the pole in, too. God is, always has been, and always will be in control, so even though it feels lazy and goes against our work-a-holic, 'sleep when you're dead' culture, give the outcome to Him and rest knowing that He cares so much for you.
God, thank You so much for caring about every part of my life. Give me strength and joy to carry out the tasks that You have called me to and when it feels like too much, remind me to cast all my cares upon You, the One whose shoulders never grow weary. Amen.
