Winter is tough. Even if it's a mild winter, the earth is still dead, the air is still dry, the days are still dark. Yuck. But of course God didn't make a mistake when He made the seasons.
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die...a time to weep and a time to laugh...a time to be silent and a time to speak...a time to mourn and a time to dance..." Ecclesiastes 3
Maybe you feel like your soul is also in a winter season: dry, dark. Well, one perk of winter is the quiet. If you find that your soul is cold and slow, take advantage of the stillness and meet with Jesus. He loves to hear us pour out our hearts and give it all over to Him.
Jesus, thank You for Your presence that is always warm and inviting. As my soul rises and falls with the seasons of life, show me Your divine ways in it all. And help me to offer Your comfort and Your hope to others in a dark winter season. Amen.
