"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." Philippians 4:8
Our minds are a battlefield, and for some reason we often gravitate towards thinking about whatever is wretched, wrong, unjust, impure, ugly, bad, gross...it's our sin nature and the enemy loves for our thoughts to settle there. Yuck.
I remember being taught in driver's ed that if an oncoming car has its brights on to look away from it by focusing on the far-right line of my lane...because where you look is where you go. What are you focusing on today?
Jesus, I want my mind to be a garden, not a swamp. Help me to remember to fix my thoughts on all the things of You and I pray that Your goodness and truth will flow out. Amen.
