Posers

"You paid careful attention to the way we lived among you, and determined to live that way yourselves. In imitating us, you imitated the Master... Your lives are echoing the Master's Word... We don't even have to say anything anymore - you're the message!" - 1 Thess. 1:5-6 (MSG)

Christ doesn't expect us to be perfectly like him, because he knows that's not attainable, BUT, he wants us to live our lives in a way that will make us more like him and bring people closer to the knowledge of who He is. We can live our lives in such a way that there is nothing to say anymore - we can be the message.

Imitating the Master means doing what he did -- loving those that aren't loved, giving what we have to those that lack, and living a life connected to the Father. Jesus was a world-changing, love-leading life-giver. We should do everything we can to live similarly.

The more we imitate the Master, the more we become like him. And the more we become like him, the more we will influence others to do the same. Jesus don't want no posers.

So we have to ask ourselves this question: when people look at your life, what are they learning about Jesus?

Lord, I want people to know you through me. I want to live my life in a way that teaches those around me about your love and grace. Help me to be more like you so that others may know you like I know you. In Jesus' name, amen.
