"...and a wise friend’s timely reprimand is like a gold ring slipped on your finger."
This verse infers a few things: that you have a wise friend (that alone is gold!), that he/she has thoughtfully brought correction, and, of course, that you like gold jewelry. (I prefer silver but that's not the point.)
Maybe we should think more about *becoming* a wise friend who isn't scared of a timely reprimand. God disciplines those He loves so if we love someone and have a close relationship with them, we should be obedient in helping guide them away from foolishness and towards holiness.
Jesus, give me the wisdom to be able to gently guide those that I love towards You...and help me to do it all abounding in Your love. Let us be known by what we are for; not what we are against. Amen.
