The Power of Wind

Posted: May 29, 2017

Growing up as an Oklahoma girl, I know the power of wind.

Even though you can’t see it, you can most certainly feel the wind, especially when a thunderstorm is rolling in. You can smell the wind (like on hot and windy trash pick-up day in July…yuck!), and you can literally see the after effects of the wind with your eyes, especially after the spring tornado season.

Wind, although invisible, has extreme power!

It is the same with the Holy Spirit. In fact, the word Spirit in this sense is translated from the Greek word “pneuma” and literally means wind, or breath.

Although we can’t see the Holy Spirit with our natural eyes, we can most certainly feel it, sense it, and see the after effects of its power in people’s lives!

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
- Acts 1:8 NLT

Thank you Lord for sending us the Holy Spirit. Thank you for its power! Open our eyes to see and feel the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
