The Full Spectrum
Posted: December 16, 2017
I like to think of the Christmas season as a giant amplification of our daily lives. It is during the Christmas season that you see the entire spectrum of humanity in its fullness, both the good and the bad. From the greed that causes shoppers to trample and fight one another on Black Friday, to the generosity of buying gifts anonymously for a family who can’t afford them, Christmas time brings out the greatest and the worst in our fallen race.
Thankfully, Jesus came for all sinners alike. So no matter where you are on the spectrum right now, Christmas is a time where we can thank God for sending Jesus, to save us all from our sins. It is because of Christ that we even have a chance to change where we are on the spectrum, and turn away from our sinful nature to become more like Him. Thank God!
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
- Matthew 1:21 NIV
Lord, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. Help us to turn from our sinful nature daily, to transform into the image of Christ more and more each day, especially this Christmas season. In Jesus’ name, amen.
