The Beatitudes - Part 6

“When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:
“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.” Matthew 5:1, 8
Pastor John recently spoke about the biggest battle we all fight: in our own minds. If you are bombarded with negative thoughts, regrets, stress, the “shoulda, coulda, wouldas” from sun up to sun down - you are not alone!
Getting emotionally healthy is a process, it’s challenging, and sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. But it will change your life, guaranteed.
Today, as a small step towards getting your mind & heart “put right,” pray and ask the Holy Spirit about one thing you can say or do. Maybe it’s apologizing to your spouse or having an honest conversation with your son/daughter. Maybe it’s taking a long, hard look at your priorities lately. Maybe it’s seeking out a Christian counselor who can help you better understand the anger/fear/anxiety that weighs you down.
Holy Spirit, I long to get my inside world put right in every way. Speak to me about an area where I need to be obedient, surrender, or get help. I know it won’t be easy but I trust You. Amen.
