The Beatitudes - Part 4

“When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:
“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.’” Matthew 5:1, 6
If you’ve ever fasted, you know the struggle. Denying your body its physical needs in order to heighten your spiritual appetite isn’t always fun or easy, but it is always worth it.
Is there something burdening you today that you should be fasting about? Pray and seek God. Fasting brings spiritual clarity and sometimes is the key to breakthrough!
Heavenly Father, I’m struggling in the area of ________. My heart’s desire is to grow closer to you and see breakthrough in my life. Speak to me, I’m listening, about what to fast and for how long. Thank You for always being there when I need You. Amen.
