The Beatitudes - Part 2

“When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:
“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.” Matthew 5:1, 4
It’s definitely not easy to feel blessed when you’re grieving a loss. Whether it’s a parent, sibling, child, spouse, friend, or even a job, home, relationship, dream…loss is so difficult and painful. Grief is a real thing that our culture does a poor job honoring, validating, recognizing, or tolerating.
Every person’s grief journey is completely different. That’s ok.
Grief comes and goes in waves. Let it.
Grief is love with nowhere to go. Keep loving.
And remember that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and He is ready to embrace you at every moment.
Father, sometimes the pain of loss is too great to bear. Give me more and more grace to deal with the loss in my life and for those around me as well. Thank You for sending the Comforter to me and those I love. Amen.
