The Beatitudes - Part 1

Posted: June 12, 2019

“When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said: ‘You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.’” Matthew 5:1-3 MSG

I’m willing to bet that you know what “the end of your rope” feels like. We’ve all been there, maybe you’re there right now. Maybe your marriage is struggling…or maybe it’s crumbling. Maybe you just lost your job…or maybe you have been looking for a job for months and there’s no hope in sight. Maybe you just got some bad news from the doctor…or maybe you’re out of options.

Know this: Jesus is there, too. He’s willing and able to meet you at the rope’s end. He doesn’t promise that life will be easy, but with Him, you are blessed, no matter what.

Jesus, I’m at the end of my rope with this situation. Things may look hopeless but I know that You specialize in hope, victory, and blessing. I want more of You and less of me. Thank You for meeting me where I am. Amen.
