Talk About Stress!

Posted: March 13, 2018

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
    so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
    they will stumble and fall.
Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident.                      Psalm 27:1-3

This psalm was written by David (yes, THE David) who was running from people who were literally trying to kill him.  Not many of us can say we've literally run for our lives, but I can't imagine that kind of stress!

Yet, David sings songs of faith and hope even in the midst of the utmost fear and turmoil.  Wow!  I can only pray that I would react that way!

Father, thank You so much for Your light, salvation, and protection.  No matter what I'm going through, You've got Your eye on me and Your mighty arm around me.  I pray for more and more confidence and faith in You, so much so that my heart is never afraid!  Amen!
