Sometimes, That's All You Need To Know

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible: Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse. Little Bobby was excited about the task, but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Bobby was nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my shepherd . . . and that's all I need to know!’”
Ha! I love this! Even though Bobby failed at scripture memory, he remembered the most important thing; even when we fail or don’t have the answers, we have God with us! We can get so caught up in needing to know the details: the how, the when and especially the why. But guess what? The Lord is your shepherd, and sometimes, that’s all you need to know!
“I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3 NIV
Lord, help us to have childlike faith and trust You even when we don’t know the details. Remind us that You are our shepherd, and You will take care of us! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
