Reasons to Praise

Posted: November 10, 2016

The election has officially ended. Maybe you woke up today joyful. Maybe it was mournful. Or maybe it was indifferent. But it's easy to allow life's circumstances to dictate your attitude, and more specifically, how that attitude is reflected on God.

Some days are amazing, and other days are difficult. But regardless of whether yesterday or today or this week has been good or bad, God is still good, and still faithful, and still worthy of our praise.

I know sometimes you get in a funk and can't think of a reason to praise God, so, today, I present to you reasons to praise God.

You are forgiven. You are healed. You are saved from hell. You are crowned like royalty! You are beautiful, surrounded by God's goodness. You are renewed and refreshed. You are redeemed. You are a child of the King. God is strong for you. He is merciful to you. His love has no boundaries, and your sins have been removed from you forever. God feels for you and longs for you. He knows you inside and out because he created you. And last, but certainly not least, God is on the throne in Heaven. He is in complete control of everything. He is not surprised by today's troubles. He rules over all. He speaks and galaxies come into being. He waves his hand and sets the planets on axis. God is big and strong, bigger and stronger than any battle you may be fighting in, and you can trust him with your life, your family and your future.

These are from Psalm 103. That's right. Just one single chapter in one single book in the bible. There are so many more chapters and books full of reasons to praise God. So take your eyes off of yourself and put them on God. He is good, and he deserves to be praised.

No, seriously. Stop what you're doing and praise God. He is good, and he deserves it.
