“Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.”
- Psalms 27:14 NLT
The idea of patience is a difficult one. In our family, we say that patience means waiting with a good attitude. That's a great definition. I know a lot of adults, including myself, that could benefit from that kind of patience when it comes to a relationship with God.
But I gotta be honest with you about something -- sometimes, verses like this make me nervous. My mind begins to wonder if something bad is gonna happen or if God is gonna do something radical in my life (like, move to [insert country name], or something radical like that). It doesn't make me fearful -- just nervous. But, part of being brave and courageous is trusting God and trusting his plan for your life.
God is worth waiting for. So are his plans. It takes courage and bravery to wait on him and to trust him with your life. But it is something that is worthwhile. He is always faithful and he will never fail.
I need to trust God with my life and family and future, all while waiting with a good attitude. And so do you. He is wise and faithful and true. And he will never fail us.
Lord, help me to live my life with patient bravery, always ready to go where you tell me to, and all while waiting with a good attitude and a heart that trusts you. Thank you for being faithful and true to your word, always. And thank you for your plans for me. I know they lead to a prosperous and hopeful future. In Jesus' name, amen.
