I recently heard a pastor preach a sermon where he stated, “one of the most spiritual things you can do is encourage one another daily.”
Now I always thought encouraging people was a nice thing to do and the right thing to do, but I never realized it’s real importance. This pastor insisted that just one single word of encouragement can change the direction of someone’s day, and even someone’s life. He said, “you never know what God could set into motion because of one single word of encouragement.”
So here’s his challenge I’ll pass on to you:
“If you think of something good, say it. Set that blessing free! Why would you ever rob someone of a blessing by withholding something that would build someone else up?”
So go ahead and do it! Let’s be a church that speaks life and encouragement to one another. The world will notice!
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
- Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT
Lord, thank you for our church family. Help us to encourage one another daily, building each other up and ultimately glorifying your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
