Nothing Without You

Posted: March 06, 2017

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I become consumed with trying to “have it all together,” and trying to “take care of things myself,” to the point that I forget to ask God for help or even include him in the daily events of my life.

On many occasions, I have realized that I am operating out of my own strength, completely apart from God. Suddenly, there is a check in my spirit, as the truth of His Word floods my mind and reminds me that apart from Him, I am nothing.

The good news is, God doesn’t just automatically drop me when I try to take care of everything on my own and forget about Him. Thankfully, I can come to Him for forgiveness, with a broken and repentant heart, admitting my desperate need for Him to be a part of my every minute.

“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.”
- Psalm 51:17 NLT

Lord, forgive me for trying to take care of everything without You. I admit my desperate need for You in every moment. In Jesus’ name, amen.
