Metamorphosis

Posted: April 13, 2017

When a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, something amazing takes place. As you probably know, caterpillars are stubby, crawly and have no wings at all. But the caterpillar forms a chrysalis around itself, and while within, all the old body parts of the caterpillar undergo a remarkable transformation in a process known as metamorphosis. Once metamorphosis has been completed, all the new, beautiful parts that make up a butterfly emerge, and it looks completely different!

It’s the same when we come into relationship with Christ. Just like a butterfly, we undergo a metamorphosis when we accept Christ as our Savior, and our old life makes a remarkable transformation. We emerge as a new creation, full of new life and beauty, and washed clean in His sight.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
- 2 Corinthians 5:17

Lord, today I am thankful that my old life, my sinful past, and all my mistakes and failures are washed away because of the saving blood of Jesus. Thank you that through my salvation, I have become a new person in Christ, completely transformed. I pray that you transform the families in my neighborhood and in this community. May they turn their hearts and marriages and families to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
