Lost Luggage

Posted: September 17, 2016

Have you ever had an airline lose your luggage? I have, once, and it sucked. I was gonna type something else, cuz I know that word sounds kind of brash, but it really did suck. And it wasn't for a few hours or overnight. We didn't get our luggage back for 3 days. 3 DAYS. If you've never lost your luggage before, here are some of the things that go through you mind.

"Where is it? Who has it? When will I get it back? How did it end up all the way in _______? Don't you understand the inconvenience this is to me? Well my ________ is in that suitcase and I need it right now!"

Honestly, that list of questions/thoughts/fears could go on for awhile.

Dealing with lost luggage is a serious inconvenience, but one thing you'll never have to worry about losing is the fruit of God's Word. God's Word comes priority express, straight to you and your life and your circumstances, and it always produces fruit. Always.

"It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it." - Isaiah 55:11

This was God's promise to the people of Israel. If they were in need of anything, God said he would take care of it (v1-2). God was reassuring them that, if he said it, he will do it.

God's promises are forever. And his Word is full of them. So no matter what you're facing today, know that God is for you and with you. Get into His Word and allow it to produce the fruit of his goodness and his promises, and know that they are already on their way.

God, help me to trust in your word and your promises to me. I'm thankful that it always accomplishes what you send it out to do, and I'm thankful for fruitfulness and prosperity, the kind that is everlasting in you. Thank you for never failing me. Help me to remain confident in your word and your promises. In Jesus' name, amen.
