Let the weak say, "I am strong!"

Posted: March 07, 2017

There’s an old worship song that goes like this:

Let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich"
Let the blind say, "I can see"
It's what the Lord has done in me

Hosanna, hosanna
To the Lamb that was slain
Hosanna, hosanna
Jesus died and rose again

Into the river, I will wade
There my sins are washed away
From the heavens mercy streams
Of the Savior's love for me

I will rise from waters deep
Into the saving arms of God
I will sing salvation songs
Jesus Christ has set me free

Hosanna, hosanna
To the Lamb that was slain
Hosanna, hosanna
Jesus died and rose again

I love this old song! What a great reminder that our weakness are made strong because of what Christ did for us on the cross. Because Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave, thus restoring our relationship with the Father, His power now lives in us as believers and covers our weaknesses. So instead of being ashamed of your weaknesses, rejoice in them as an area where God’s power can work through you, bringing glory to His name!

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’”
- 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

Lord, thank you that your grace is enough to cover my weaknesses. I pray that your power would rest on me, strengthening me in my weaknesses, and bringing glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
