Losing Your Keys

Posted: September 10, 2016

"But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, 'God is great!' - Psalm 70:4

Have you ever lost your keys?

Yes, you have, and I have, and so has everyone else you know. We've both felt the same emotions. Anger, frustration, rage, sorrow, angst, and the list goes on.

Losing your keys feels a lot like losing your marbles. No, not the kind you played with when you were a kid. The kind that roll around in your brain, feverishly, while you swear you left your keys right _________.

How hard and how long did you look for those keys? And you and I both know they're usually right in front of us, or sometimes even in our pocket even though we swear we looked there!

The same can happen in our search for God. We can feel all sorts of emotions throughout any circumstance or struggle. But when we find God, or rather, when he finds us, much like finding our keys, relief comes. We know we have what we need. And in God, we have all we need. So search for him, earnestly, and know that no matter your circumstance, you will have all you need in Him.

Lord, I know that you are near me. Help me to seek you daily. I want to know you more. In Jesus' name, amen.
