"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
This is a big-picture verse, and it's so comforting. This verse is part of a letter from Jeremiah to a people who were uprooted. It makes me think of all those throughout history, and even now, whose lives have been turned upside down in a natural disaster or epidemic. None of us are immune to calamity and we never know what's coming around the bend, but God knows. He has always known and He has always been in control. He has always had peaceful, loving, hopeful thoughts toward His children and He has an end-goal: victory. God wins! No matter what we're going through, in the end, God will reign. Praise the Lord!
Father, thank You for Your peace and hope. Thank You that I can rest knowing You are in control and You hold my future in Your mighty hands. I trust You and I love You. Amen.
