I remember becoming a mom and helplessly feeling like I had no idea what I was doing. But now, a year later, I feel much more confident in my “mom skills.” I can tell when my daughter is hungry, when she is tired, when she is hurt, when she wants comfort and when she wants to play. I know her needs and how to meet them better than anyone els
And hands down my favorite thing as a mom is not only knowing what my child needs, but providing it for her at just the right time. Feeding her when she’s hungry, holding her when she is hurt, watching her drift off to sleep when I know she’s exhausted, those things bring me joy because I love taking good care of her.
Did you know God feels the same way about us, his children? Only about a million times more.
I am so thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves to take care of us.
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
- Matthew 7:11 NIV
Thank you Lord that you love us and call us your children. Thank you that you care for us and provide for us even better than we as earthly parents do for our children. In Jesus’ name, amen.
