Get It In You!

“Dear Lord, please help me to ace this test, even though I got distracted watching tv/making dinner/doing chores/going shopping/hanging out with my friends/basically doing life, and didn’t end up having time to study. I know I don’t have the information in my head because I haven’t memorized it, but maybe you can just miraculously bring it to my mind? Thanks. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
If you were ever a student, there’s a good chance you’ve prayed a prayer similar to this one before. I know I have! And while praying before a test can certainly help, if you really want to feel confident when facing a test, you sit down, do the hard work and study.
Studying gets the information off the page and in to you.
The more you meditate on it, memorize it, and review it, the more it gets in you. Then, when with each new question you encounter on the test, and even as the questions increase in difficulty, you will sail through, answering each question confidently, because the answer is in now in you!
It’s the same with scripture. If you want to face each of life’s challenges confidently, you must take the time to study God’s word. Read it, review it, meditate on it, memorize it, and get it in you!
Cause once the Word of God is in you, you can face any test life brings!
“I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
- Psalm 119:11 NLT
Dear Lord, thank you for your Word, that brings truth and guidance to my life. Help me to hide your word in my heart, so that I can face the challenges life brings with confidence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
