The Bible talks a lot about generations (in Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Psalms
Ecclesiastes, Ephesians.....you get the idea).  Sometimes it's hard for us to think outside of today, let alone about past or future generations.

But we should think about it a little.  A legacy is "anything handed down from the past," and we should stop and think (right now's a good time) about what we are handing down.  You don't have to have children to hand down a legacy; there are most likely people that you work with who are watching you.  You can hand them a legacy of a good work ethic, respect, loyalty, and character.  Who knows what the ripple effect will be.

Even bad king Nebuchadnezzar was impacted by the legacy young Daniel was determined to set, and when the king changed his ways, he said "Peace and prosperity to you!  I want you all to know about the miraculous signs and wonders the Most High God has performed for me.  How great are his signs, how powerful his wonders! His kingdom will last forever, his rule through all generations."    Daniel 4:1-3

Father, only You know what the future holds and how my words and actions will impact future generations.  I want to leave a legacy that points to You.  Give me an eternal mindset and teach me how to leave a godly legacy to future generations.  Amen.
