I love a fresh start, and January 1st always feels like a monumental one.
"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” Psalm 92:12-15
I love this picture of a tall, beautiful, healthy tree, "fresh and green." I don't know about you, but I don't want to end my life feeling spiritually wilted, shriveled up, or dead. We will never "arrive" in our relationship with God, so let's keep pressing in and seeking to know Him. Stay fresh!
Father, I long to grow deeper in my relationship with You this year, and for all my life. Keep speaking to me, keep guiding me, keep showing me more of who You are. I'm so glad Your Word is always fresh and pertinent to me. Amen.
