"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
Whenever I read this for myself, I like to add one word to the very end, just to drive it home: YET.
In this season of your life, what is it that you are waiting for?
That ministry position that God put in your heart years ago?
To finally become a spouse?
To finally become a parent?
A loved one to accept Jesus as his/her Savior?
If your faith is starting to wither, it's okay to tell God about your frustration, loneliness, discouragement...but then pray this verse over your spirit, add that "yet!" and get loud with it!
Jesus, You know how long I've been waiting for this desire in my heart. It feels like it's taking forever and sometimes it feels like You've deserted me. But I know what faith is and I know You are faithful! Help my unbelief. Give me a good attitude in the waiting and give me confidence for what I do not see YET. Amen!
