Expectation

Posted: July 01, 2017

1 Peter 1:3-5 says

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance - an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.”

How great is it to know that as believers we have a heavenly inheritance waiting for us? It is exciting that we get to live in expectation for this, but how often do we forget to live in expectation for God to reveal Himself in our everyday life. We should go throughout our day looking for ways that God is revealing himself and we should be expectant for Him everyday, not just during a church service. God doesn’t only move on Sundays, sometimes it is during our worst moments in the day that we can hear Him speak. So in what situation should you be open and expectant for God today?

God, thank You that through You I am a new creation. Thank You for your protection in my life. I pray that You will open my eyes and prepare my heart with an expectation for You to be revealed today. Have your way in my life. Amen.
