Raise your hand if you ever feel overwhelmed. * both hands up *
* laying on the floor with my feet up, too *

I know. It’s ok. We all feel overwhelmed at times! That’s why the best feeling in the world, as an adult, is when a commitment (that you weren’t that excited about to begin with) gets cancelled. What a relief! What freedom! What have I done to deserve this?!

I have a pro-tip for those weeks/days/hours/minutes that hold too much to bear….DTNT. Do The Next Thing. Don’t look at all of it, because it’s too much. Just do the next thing on the list, the next thing that has to be done. Great advice, right?! But it didn’t come from me:

“Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” Philippians 3:13 (The Message)

The best part of this scripture is that he’s (the Apostle Paul) not just talking about our weekly, daily, or hourly responsibilities…he’s talking about the eternal mindset. He’s talking about kingdom business. He’s talking about Jesus.

Jesus, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed that I don’t even know where to start! Show me what the next thing is and help me to do, but give me your eternal, kingdom mindset as I do , so that I can keep Your perspective and glorify You in the end. Amen!
