There are times in life when we have to accept disappointment. Sometimes it is the result of our own mistake, like absentmindedly throwing away something important. Sometimes it is just plain old bad luck, like getting sick right before a special event. When the cloud of disappointment hovers, surrender it to God. He knows the depth of your sadness and will carry you through.
Though you may not want to hear it, Romans 8:28 is a comforting verse:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Ultimately, God's ways are higher than ours and we have to trust that He is working for our good, even when our feelings say otherwise.
Jesus, thank you for being there for me in the good times and the bad. Even when I'm disappointed with life's circumstances, You comfort me. Help me to worship and honor You no matter how I'm feeling. Amen.
