Decisions Decisions Decisions

"So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves." - Galatians 5:16

Have you ever thought about how many decisions you and I make in a day?

"What do I wear today? What should I eat for breakfast? What radio station do I want to listen to on my way to work? How should I prioritize my day? What TV show are we in the mood for? What time should I go to bed? When should I run errands this weekend? Do I need to go grocery shopping? What do you wanna do for dinner?"

I mean, seriously, the list could go on and on. You and I make hundreds decisions every day. On our drive to work alone, we make dozens of decisions from what speed we drive to how soon we brake to whether or not we stop at the stop sign or just keep on rolling cuz no one is around.

Sure, some of the decisions we make each day have little impact on our lives, but what about the ones that do? What about the ones that could affect our job, our marriage, our finances, or even whether or not we make it home at the end of the day? In the verse above, Paul is writing to the church about the decisions they make. Sometimes, we make selfish, decisions that reflect our fleshly desires. But what would this world look like if each of our decisions were influenced by the Spirit? What if every decision we made impacted us and this world for good? What if every decision we made honored God and the call he has placed on our lives?

Lord, guide me and lead my steps today. Help my decisions today, and every day, to impact this world for good.  I want every decision I make to be honorable and pleasing to you. Help me to demonstrate my obedience to your Spirit.  In Jesus' name, amen.
