"Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5
I read an article yesterday about how to handle an emotional upset. For children and adults alike, a deep disappointment/great loss/ heavy conflict is like going through a tunnel. Usually all that we can do is hang on, pray, ride it out, cry it out, and just wait for the light at the end of it. What a great analogy for this verse that says the same thing: joy comes in the morning. When you're in a dark night, your problems can seem overwhelming, suffocating, never-ending. But in the light of morning, there is refreshing and uplifting.
Lord, thank you for never leaving me through the darkest night. Give me strength to trust You even when I can't sense You, and give me the words to say to those around me who are suffering. Amen.
