Einstein said "time is an illusion." Another thought I read is that we each have only 2 minutes to live...and we reset the clock with every breath.
I've always found it interesting how time lulls us; it ticks by just slow enough that we don't panic, but just fast enough to make us do a double-take. Or maybe it just seems that way in different seasons. Kids cannot wait to grow up and gain more freedom...to then become adults who pine for the good 'ol days. Ah, time.
"Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, forever and ever, You are God. For a thousand years in Your eyes are like yesterday when it passes by, or like the hours of the night...So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:2, 4, 12
God experiences and measures time completely differently than we do. So, the best way to handle time, whether you think you have too much or too little at this point, is with wisdom. Let's not waste our time but spend and invest it wisely in things of eternal value.
Lord, give me wisdom to manage the time You've given me. I don't want to waste it or spend it frivolously. I want to be obedient with every moment and know that You are guiding my steps. I want my time on earth to make a difference for Your kingdom. Amen.
