Don't Just Praise Him

Posted: March 23, 2019

Psalm 22:3 “But You are holy, you inhabit the praises of your people”

God inhabits the praises of His people. God lives in our praises.

So, don’t feel Him? Don’t hear Him? Don’t see Him at work in your circumstances? I would say “just praise Him,” but that word “just” can be so misleading, right? “Just” implies that it’s easy. Praising God at the low points is a simple solution, but almost never easy. It’s like downing cough syrup - you know you have to do it, but everything inside of you is saying “no thanks!”

But praising God even when you cannot fathom any feeling of joy, peace, or love…the outcome, the reward of doing it “even though”…is growth, obedience, and breakthrough! It might take a few times, but if you’re faithful to build Him a house of praise, He’ll show up!

So, don’t “just” praise Him no matter your circumstances, PRAISE HIM knowing that your expectation of Him will not go unfulfilled.

Father, some days it’s so difficult to praise You even though I know it’s good and right. Help me push through and persevere to breakthrough! I want You to inhabit my praises and I want to know You deeper and better than ever. Amen.
