1 Thess. 5:16-18 says, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances.”
Did you know that God wants us to remain joyful, prayerful and thankful all day? Yeah. It sounds crazy. But it's true. I call it "jaynkful" (don't worry, it'll catch on)
Why does God instruct us to do these things? Contrary to what our kids might think, God is not saying that if we annoy him enough with question after question that he will cave and give us what we want. Nor is he saying we should always have a cheesy smile on our face.
No, God is saying to us that no matter what, he's always listening to us when we pray. And he's always got our back. AND he is reminding us that he always gives us the best for our life. Always. That's why there's no reason to be anything other than jaynkful.
Lord, I have much to be thankful for. I know that you have my back, and that you always have my best interest at heart. Help me to be joyful and thankful always, and help me to remain in an attitude of prayer throughout each day. In Jesus' name, amen.
