Have you ever seen a momma swan swimming around with her little ducklings tucked under her wings? It’s a pretty incredible sight to see. Her large, back turned wings fan out to literally shield her babies and keep them tucked while she swims across the lake. Her babies are vulnerable, not yet ready to fly or swim, and if left to their own devices would certainly die. But she doesn’t abandon them when she has to go take care of business. Instead, she tucks them in her expansive, protective wings, keeping them safe and warm and out of harm’s way.
When you feel vulnerable, helpless or weak, remember God’s promises. Just like the momma swan taking care of her ducklings, God will take care of you.
“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
- Psalm 91:4 NLT
Lord, thank you that your promises are my armor and protection. Thank you that you promise to shelter me with your wings. Help me to seek you more and find refuge in your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
