It’s pretty easy to see that everyone in life goes through storms at some point. Christian or non-Christian, no one is immune to trials, sickness or tragedy. Christians and non-Christians alike lose loved ones, get cancer, have financial struggles, miscarriages, or have dealt with abuse. But the difference between the Christian and non-Christian is that the Christian has the hope and resources to overcome life’s inevitable storms. Through the promises in His word and the hope we have in our salvation through Christ, we can cling tightly to him and endure even the worst of life’s storms.
“But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost…So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.”
- Acts 27:22 and 25 NLT
Lord, help us to trust and hope in you, no matter how violent the storms of life are. Thank you for the Holy Spirit that comforts, guides and directs us, and gives us peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
