Apples to Apples

Posted: November 17, 2018

Do you know what happens to a bunch of apples when just one apple rots? The whole bunch can spoil. When an apple ripens, it gives off a gas called ethylene, which causes other fruits in close proximity to ripen faster and subsequently rot faster! And once a piece of fruit gets moldy, the mold will quickly spread to the surrounding fruit as it looks for additional food sources. So the phrase, “one bad apple spoils the whole bunch,” is actually proven to be true!

To live an inspired life, you must look introspectively at those that are closest to you. Who are you surrounding yourself with? Do the people in your life spiritually and emotionally drain you? Or do they inspire you to be more like Jesus, encouraging you to serve others with greater compassion and diligence?

“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” 1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV

Lord, I want to live a life that inspires and encourages others. Help me to surround myself with those that will challenge me to be more like Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
