Our generation is the most technologically advanced generation in history. Unfortunately, we're also the busiest and most distracted. How many hours a day do you spend looking at your phone? Yeah...me too. How often do you miss a green light because the person in front of you is looking at their phone? Mm-hmm.
In a day where everyone and everything is competing for our attention, it's becoming increasingly difficult to make time for God.
Jesus knew all about distractions. All day, every day, he was surrounded by people. From the 12 disciples to the thousands by the lake, Jesus was no stranger to long and busy days. BUT, Jesus also showed us how to make time during the busyness. He got away from the distractions and he prayed. As we continue on this journey called life, we should learn from our Savior and take action against distraction so we can talk with and hear from God.
"But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer." - Luke 5:16
Lord, life is busy and full of distractions. I'm taking this moment to get away from my calendar and to-do list to connect with you. Speak to me. I want to hear your voice. In Jesus' name, amen.
